According to the definition of the Taiwan Agricultural Extension Association, food and agriculture education is an experiential educational process. Learners, through interactions with food, food industry workers, flora and fauna, farmers, the natural environment, and relevant stakeholders, gain an understanding of local agriculture, correct dietary habits, the culture formed by these habits, and the impact of agriculture and dietary practices on the ecological environment. In the process of modernization in Taiwan, changes in lifestyle have not only affected the dietary habits and health of the people but have also led to over-reliance on imported agricultural products and a plethora of food safety issues. This has raised concerns among the populace regarding food and agricultural safety as well as environmental and ecological issues. Hence, the promotion of food and agriculture education is of utmost importance. This course will take the perspective of promoters, combining the teachings of both teachers and practitioners, to help students understand the various aspects and content covered by food and agriculture education. Furthermore, it will utilize our school's common living-circle in Sanzhi as a learning field. Through field visits and experiential learning, students will be guided to integrate relevant professional knowledge and, through innovative planning and design, develop implementation plans or activities for food and agriculture education in Sanzhi.
