課程概述

公共事務與經濟主要研究如何經由政府的公共政策(支出及稅制)來使社會資源有效配置，使人民所得公平分配，進而提高全社會的福利水準。本課程主要目標在於使初學者認識公共事務與經濟所牽涉的學理概念及分析方法，進而能夠觀察民主社會中政府如何干預市場經濟。本課程結合理論與國內的政策實例，使初學者產生興趣。 在分析方法上，授課老師將使用圖形與簡單的數學，配合經濟學的基本概念，期使初學者有直覺上的了解。

Public affairs and economics is the field of economics that studies government activities and the alternative means of financing government expenditures. The goal of the course is to help the student understand the impact of government expenditures, regulations, taxes, and borrowing on incentives to work , invest, and consume. The course thus develops principles for understanding the role of government in the economy and its impact on resource use and the well-being of citizens.
