內容

課程概述

本課程內容旨在深入淺出地介紹遺傳工程的基本知識、基本操作方法、及其發展，進而介紹遺傳工程在現代生物技術之發展過程中，所擔負的角色及其影響。本課程除了基本知識的傳授之外，有關報章及雜誌的相關報導也將隨時納入討論。

This course is designed to be an introduction to genetic engineering in the field of biotechnological sciences. Students who take this course will learn basic concepts and fundamental techniques that are important in genetic engineering and learn also the application of these techniques to the investigation of modern biotechnology emphasizing fundamental processes of life. The goal of this course is to learn to think like a biologist while at the same time experiencing some of the thrill of scientific discovery from newly published newspapers and scientific magazines.

授課內容

本課程之授課內容包括：

(一）基因的本質、與遺傳工程的基本知識及基本操作方法

(二）遺傳工程在生物學及基因體學上的應用

(三）遺傳工程在生物技術產業上的應用。本課程以課堂講授與隨堂討論為主，配合期中、及期末考兩次評量，以落實教學成效
