Historical movies or videos are often an important channel for non-history majors to absorb historical knowledge. What most people regard as boring history textbooks can often attract a certain number of viewers once they are transformed into dramas, movies, and short films, with casts of handsome men and beautiful women, bloody plots, or sensational titles. Because of this, and for certain specific purposes, these historical films will be used to convey a certain historical perspective to the audience. This phenomenon is common in the palace battle dramas and anti-Japanese dramas that have become popular on the other side of the Taiwan Strait in recent years, or in movies or TV series with aboriginal themes or Japanese colonial themes that were once popular in Taiwan. Or some so-called historical Internet celebrities will use social media or audio and video platforms to insert certain historical views into them. Therefore, through this course, students can develop their humanistic qualities and diverse thinking abilities. |
