課程概述

為了深入認識啟蒙時代的思想，我們將介紹影響與形塑了啟蒙哲學的主要思想源頭：笛卡兒、霍布斯、史賓諾沙、休謨、伏爾泰、康德，以及啟蒙精神的批判者與反思者，如盧梭與傅科。透過原典的閱讀，同學將能夠更深入地掌握啟蒙的正面價值與普世意義。

It is not an overstatement that one cannot acquire an adequate understanding of the emergence of modern Western civilization without a basic knowledge of Enlightenment thinkers. In this course, we will read the works of those most influential enlightenment thinkers as well as anti-enlightenment thinkers: Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza, Hume, Rousseau, Voltaire, Kant and Foucault.
