課程概述

科技的發展對生活的影響是多方面的，政治當然也在其影響範圍之中，其中網路科技與大數據的影響已經十分明顯，而生物科技（包括基因工程）與人工智能的發展，對於政治的影響雖然不是很直接，但對人類的生存究竟是福音，還是災難的根苗，猶在未定之天。本課程的重心在於探討網路科技、生物科技、大數據與人工智能這四大科技創新對人類生活的影響（包括正面與負面），思考對於其所帶來的負面影響與倫理爭議，並從哲學思想層面加以反省，然後探索政治有何應對之道與作為？

The impact of technology on modern life is multi-dimensional, and politics is certainly under its influence. Among the new technologies, the impact of internet technology and big data on politics is already evident. By contrast, the influence of biotechnology (including genetic engineering) and artificial intelligence on politics is yet to be discovered, and whether they are a good news for human existence or a root for destruction is undetermined. This course will explore the positive and negative consequences of four new technological innovations, including internet, biotech, big data, and artificial intelligence. We will consider especially their negative impacts and the ethical controversies they generate, reflect them at the philosophical level, and contemplate on the challenges they pose for politics.

以網路科技、生物科技、大數據與人工智能這四大科技創新為主要的研究對象，探討它們所帶來的衝擊與倫理爭議，從哲學層面加以反省，以及思考政治對其負面影響與倫理爭議應有何作為。
